Each country will play twice in September and October. Teams in League A and League B and League C group 1 will play once in November. Teams in League C groups 2, 3 and 4 and teams in League D will play twice in November. The first round of games called “Matchday 1” will be played from Friday 7th of September to Sunday 9th of September. How do teams qualify for the semi-finals stage?
Only teams that are in League A can qualify for the semi-finals. The four teams that win their respective groups in League A qualify for the semi-finals to be held on the 5th and 6th of June 2019.
The teams that win their respective groups in Leagues B, C and D get promoted to the league above them. The teams that finish bottom (and the third worst team in Group C) of their respective groups in Leagues A, B and C get relegated to the league below them.
How is it connected to the European Championship qualifying?
Eight teams will be given an opportunity from this tournament to qualify for the European Championships if they haven’t qualified already and these will be determined by their league and group position. These teams will play a play off for the final 4 places after the first 20 places for the European Championships have been determined.
